Do I need a literary agent to submit?+
No. We accept unagented submissions during our open reading windows. Agented submissions are welcome year-round through standard industry channels.
How long until I hear back?+
Initial acknowledgement arrives within 5 business days. Full editorial review takes 8 to 12 weeks. Please do not follow up before 90 days.
Do you charge reading fees?+
No. Submissions are free. We never ask authors to pay for editorial consideration.
What genres do you publish?+
Literary fiction, speculative fiction, narrative non-fiction, business and leadership, and poetry. See the editorial calendar for current focus areas.
Can I submit the same manuscript to multiple publishers?+
Yes. Simultaneous submissions are fine. Please notify us immediately if your manuscript is offered representation or publication elsewhere.
Do you publish translations?+
Selectively. We acquire 2 to 4 works in translation per year. Submit with a sample translation of the first 30 pages plus translator bio.
How are author advances and royalties structured?+
Advances vary by project. Standard royalty rates are 10 to 15 percent on print, 25 percent on ebooks, and 25 percent on audio, with escalators built into most contracts.
How can readers buy your books?+
All Keller titles are available through major retailers, independent bookstores, and directly via this site. Signed first editions ship from our Keller, TX warehouse.
